Anxiety Therapy

# When your brain runs a _marathon_ before your day starts.

(you don't need to try harder. you need different tools.)

High-functioning anxiety doesn't look like anxiety from the outside. It looks like being organized, over-prepared, always-on. It feels like never getting to put your brain down.

We work with CBT and nervous-system skills — the kind you can actually use in the middle of a Tuesday, not just in a workbook.

What it looks like

## You're the calm one at work. _Nobody knows._

- You wake up already behind, even on days with nothing on the calendar.
- You over-prepare for everything, then feel like a fraud when it goes well.
- Your chest is tight in the meeting; you're taking careful notes anyway.
- You replay conversations at 11pm looking for what you got wrong.
- You can't tell if you're actually tired or just tired of thinking.
- Sleep is when your brain finally gets loud.

How we work on it

## We map the loop. Then we _interrupt it_.

(anxiety is a pattern, not a personality trait.)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a fancy name for a simple move: notice the thought → the feeling → what you do to cope → what happens next. Once we can see the loop, we can change any part of it.

We pair that with real nervous-system work — breath, grounding, exposure to the things you've been avoiding — so it's not just insight. It's practice. You leave sessions with something to try, not a diagnosis to sit with.

Most clients start feeling different in the first 4–6 weeks. Not "cured" — more like the volume knob works again.

What you'll actually do

## Between-session work that's _actually_ doable.

1. 01

    ### Track the loop

A two-minute note when anxiety spikes: what triggered it, what you thought, what you did. No journaling essays.

2. 02

    ### Test a thought

Pick one worst-case thought a week. We check it against evidence, not vibes. It's less soothing than reassurance and more useful.

3. 03

    ### Practice on purpose

Small, deliberate exposures to the things you've been over-preparing around. Not comfortable. Doable.

4. 04

    ### Regulate the body

Two or three nervous-system moves that work in under 90 seconds — in the car, before a meeting, in the bathroom.

Straight talk

## When I'm _not_ the right fit.

- You want a place to vent for 50 minutes and leave without homework.
- You're in active crisis or having thoughts of suicide — call or text 988; that needs a higher level of care than weekly outpatient.
- You're looking for medication management. I don't prescribe; I'll happily coordinate with a psychiatrist if you have one.

If any of that is you, I'll say so on the consult and point you toward someone who's a better fit.

Common questions

## Before you book.

How long does it take?

Most clients notice a shift in 4–6 weeks and feel meaningfully different in 3–6 months. The goal is that you eventually don't need me.

Do I have to do exposures?

For anxiety, some form of doing-the-thing is part of the work — but we build it together, start small, and I never spring anything on you.

In-person or virtual?

Both. In-person in Alpharetta, virtual anywhere in Georgia.

## Ready when _you_ are.

A free 15-minute call. You tell me what's going on. I tell you honestly whether I'm the right fit.
